Pool Tec Canada has been in continuous business for 35 years as a family run operation. Pool Tec Canada (formerly Ideal Pools) was founded in 1988 by Italian born Corrado (Charlie) Giordanella, who developed new techniques in the pool industry that have lasted over a quarter century. Today Pool Tec Canada is immensely proud to have built hundreds of pools throughout Ontario and serviced thousands more over the last three decades.
From Ideal Pools to Pool Tec Canada
Immigrant To Entrepreneur
Corrado (Charlie) Giordanella was born in 1951 in Pacino, Sicily. In 1963, when he was just 12 years old, his family immigrated to Ontario, Canada, settling in Richmond Hill. Despite the challenges of adjusting to a new country and culture, Charlie thrived and developed a passion for building things with his hands.
Charlie started working in the construction industry, learning the trade from a skilled mentor. In 1970, he started sub-contracting pool construction projects and gained valuable experience in the field. Charlie's hard work and dedication to the craft earned him a reputation as a skilled and reliable contractor.
In 1988, Charlie decided to start his own company, Ideal Pools, with the goal of providing high-quality pool construction and maintenance services to homeowners in Richmond Hill and the surrounding areas. With no formal education, Charlie relied on his experience and drive to build a successful business that would provide for his family and leave a lasting legacy.
Over the next 30+ years, Charlie worked tirelessly to grow Ideal Pools, earning the trust and loyalty of countless customers. His commitment to excellence and his willingness to go above and beyond for his clients made Ideal Pools a household name in the community.
In 2022, after more than three decades at the helm of Ideal Pools, Charlie passed the torch to his sons who are now continuing his father's legacy of excellence in the pool industry. Charlie's dedication to his craft, his family, and his community will never be forgotten, and his impact on the industry will be felt for generations to come.
Ideal Pools Merger With Pool Tec Canada
In 2023 Ideal Pools began a new era, merging with Pool Tec Canada Incorporated and taking on a new brand, logo and evolving direction of business management. Despite the changes, we'll always be Ideal Pools at heart, and as we move forward into a new future of development and innovation we'll always remember where we came from, all the way back to that little town in Sicily.....
